Bear Creek has 331 acres of rugged and heavily timbered camping areas on Bear Creek. Canoeing is available on nearby Whitewater River. Bear Creek is an all purpose camp with a dining hall, swimming pool, 10 campsites, outpost sites, and two lakes.
The camp belonged to the Whitewater Valley Council (headquartered in Hagerstown, Indiana) prior to the 1972 merger that formed the Crossroads of America Council. A bear was their Order of the Arrow lodge totem. Firecrafter also existed in the council prior to the merger. The hill site traditionally used is said by many to be one of the prettiest in Indiana. A word of warning: the camp will be very muddy and flooded if it rains! The last Rituals held here were in 1998.
